About the Role

Turoks Construction Inc is seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Building Layouts

Measure and mark locations for construction of walls, floors, and roofs, using measuring tools and techniques.

Carpentry and Joinery

Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.

Installation and Finishing

Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to ensure a smooth and safe working environment.

Supervision and Teamwork

Work under the supervision of a senior carpenter or project manager, and collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals.

Equipment and Machinery

Operate hand tools and equipment safely and efficiently to complete tasks.

Transportation and Travel

Use your own transportation to travel to and from work sites, and be willing to travel regularly to support project needs.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, and be physically capable of lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience

Hold a secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience, and have at least 2 years of experience in the trade.

Language and Communication

Be fluent in English and able to communicate effectively with team members and clients.

Work Environment and Safety

Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy and dusty environments, and be willing to work in a physically demanding role.
