We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Schematics Designer to join our team at New Flyer. As an Electrical Schematics Designer, you will be responsible for the completion of design tasks, Bill of Material releases, and projects from concept to implementation in production.
Key Responsibilities- Complete design tasks and project assignments that support production activities.
- Coordinate own tasks to ensure schedule and dates are met, considering vendor and production lead times.
- Create designs that meet customer specifications, Technical Summaries, and other contract documents, and ensure designs are within manufacturing abilities.
- Ensure compliance with design criteria and all applicable regulations.
- Complete or initiate-controlled testing of components and installations to meet contractual obligations, ensure product reliability, and verify component fit.
- Complete technical drawings and release documents under Engineering procedures and ENAs (Notices of Action).
- Provide engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as required.
- Interact with vendors and customers on design-related issues, ensuring that, where applicable, there are documents of vendor approval on new installations or applications.
- Junior – College Grad (1-5 yrs. experience) / Intermediate - College Grad (5-10 years experience) registered CTTAM / Senior – College Grad (minimum of 10+ years experience) registered w/CTTAM.
- Manufacturing & Assembly an asset.
- Strong CAD/Unigraphics Drafting.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
