Janitorial Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our BGIS SCS Team. As a key member of our operational team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in our designated zone.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean floors, walls, and surfaces using various cleaning equipment and solutions.
• Sweep and clean exterior perimeter of the building.
• Empty waste receptacles and transport garbage to designated areas.
• Clean and store equipment and machinery used in the cleaning process.
• Replenish cleaning solutions and follow procedures for dilution of detergents.
• Perform low and high dusting, glass cleaning, and bathroom cleaning as required.
• Notify supervisors of any maintenance or repair needs.

Requirements:

• Experience in performing cleaning, housekeeping, and maintenance activities in an institutionalized environment.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with staff, clients, and the public.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and shifts as assigned, and work in multiple locations.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and prepare and maintain records.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, and talking, as well as using hands and fingers to handle objects and tools. Occasional lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds may be required.
