- Deliver continuous, hands-on coaching to operational staff to promote safe practices and compliance with health and safety standards.
- Support project sites in implementing health and safety enhancement strategies, pinpointing areas for improvement, and developing actionable plans.
- Collaborate closely with management teams to ensure the effective implementation and ongoing refinement of health and safety protocols within operations.
- Engage in the clear communication and execution of initiatives linked to the Health and Safety Management System.
- Guide and mentor site personnel in recognizing their roles in health and safety management, particularly in hazard identification, risk assessment, and the application of control measures.
- Contribute to the formulation of safe operational procedures for industrial, aggregate, and construction projects, focusing on high-risk tasks.
- Provide on-site assistance in conducting investigations of incidents and ensure prompt reporting.
- Facilitate action tracking and follow-up for health and safety audit recommendations to guarantee timely and effective completion.
- Assist site management in ensuring a safe and timely return to work for employees who have been injured.
Specific Qualifications:
- Flexibility to work varied hours as required by the role.
- Comfortable working in outdoor industrial, mining, aggregate, and construction environments.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Mature demeanor with the capability to work independently without supervision.
- Proficient in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and punctuality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with individuals at all corporate levels and from diverse backgrounds.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in an operational role, preferably in Health & Safety.
- Relevant college or university education is advantageous.
- Proficient in various office software applications.
- Experience with Site Docs is a plus.
