Job Title: Communication Specialist

Deafblind Ontario Services is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Communication Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Communication Specialist will be responsible for assisting with planning, executing, and promoting various events and initiatives to raise awareness and support for Deafblind Ontario Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Event Planning: Assist with planning, securing silent auction prizes, and other event logistics for fundraising events.
  • Community Outreach: Assist with social media and community awareness initiatives to promote the organization's mission and values.
  • Internal Communication: Assist with executing internal communication plans to promote employee engagement and awareness.
  • Research and Development: Research corporate prospects for potential partnerships and update service club listings for future presentations.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Report all unsafe conditions, hazards, or practices, accidents, and incidents in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and adhere to all Health and Safety requirements within Deafblind Ontario Services policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
