About the Role

Smith + Andersen is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the electrical aspects of our projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Coordination
    • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
    • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
  • Electrical Engineering and Design
    • Review and manage electrical design concepts, including system engineering and concept reports.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including the provincial building code, electrical code, CSA, ULC, IEEE, IES, and NFPA standards.
  • Contract Administration and Management
    • Manage contracts, including preparation and review of change notices, amendments, and other contract-related documents.
    • Coordinate with the contract administration team to ensure timely completion of contract administration activities.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management
    • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project goals and objectives are met.
    • Provide regular project updates and reports to stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance and Control
    • Ensure that all project deliverables, including reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications, are complete and accurate.
    • Implement and maintain quality management processes to ensure project quality standards are met.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • 3 or more years of project engineering experience in the field of electrical building services.
    • Senior C.E.T. with equivalent experience and abilities will also be considered.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong leadership and project management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Knowledge of engineering concepts, methods, and standards.
    • LEED certification or experience implementing sustainable design is an asset.
