Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the EHS Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing plant safety and environmental initiatives to ensure a secure and accident-free workplace.
This position involves the implementation, management, and adaptation of policies and programs aimed at enhancing the facility's environmental and safety performance while ensuring adherence to current and forthcoming regulations and standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering training programs for managers and employees on workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Collaborating with all departments to assess current safety conditions and recommend improvements.
- Managing all aspects of EHS, including OSHA compliance, environmental record-keeping, safety audits, and accident investigations.
- Identifying workplace hazards and ensuring compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Preparing and submitting environmental compliance reports to regulatory agencies.
This is a full-time, permanent position located in our Richmond Hill facility. A university or college degree in Safety or Business Management is preferred, along with a minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing setting, particularly in implementing and managing safety initiatives.
Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential. Experience in a food manufacturing environment is advantageous.
