About the Role

Glow Construction Ltd. is seeking a skilled Framing and Carpentry Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the framing and installation of residential buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Building Layouts: Utilize measuring tools to create accurate layouts in compliance with building codes.
  • Carpentry and Joinery: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to create precise and durable structures.
  • Estimating and Quoting: Prepare detailed estimates and quotations for clients, taking into account materials, labor, and other costs.
  • Installation and Fitting: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to ensure a seamless and professional finish.
  • Site Management: Schedule and coordinate work on sites, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruptions.
  • Surveying and Supervision: Conduct site surveys to determine building locations and levels, and supervise other workers to ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Cost Estimation: Accurately estimate costs and materials required for projects, ensuring budgetary compliance.
Work Environment

This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The physical demands of the job include bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads. The work term is permanent, with a standard 35-hour workweek.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks in a fast-paced construction environment
