Position Overview

The role involves the meticulous construction, assembly, installation, and maintenance of exhibit components, adhering closely to provided schematics and blueprints. The candidate will also contribute to the design phase by offering fabrication insights to ensure precision between detailed designs and the final product.

Core Responsibilities

Material Assessment:

Analyze and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to establish specifications. Collaborate with pre-production teams to offer constructive feedback on construction methodologies. Strategize the most effective production methods and implement the devised plans. Design and create suitable packaging as required.

Inventory Management:

Monitor stock levels to assess inventory; forecast supply needs; manage ordering and receipt of materials. Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in optimal working condition.

Layout Preparation:

Utilize measuring instruments for layout preparation. Employ CAD software to generate cutting templates.

Exhibit Fabrication and Repair:

Adhere to established standards and protocols, making necessary adjustments. Manufacture components within the designated timeframes. Apply laminates and finishes as per specifications. Utilize various tools for measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling materials. Operate CNC router tables safely and efficiently. Manage the installation and dismantling of exhibits.

Equipment Maintenance:

Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair equipment issues. Assess new tools and techniques, providing recommendations to management. Ensure safe operation of CAD software and CNC equipment.

Workplace Safety and Cleanliness:

Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of secondary education. Successful completion of a three to four-year apprenticeship program.

or

A combination of over four years of practical experience in the field, along with some high school, college, or industry-related courses in carpentry. Valid passport with the ability to travel as required. Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary. Capacity to perform under tight deadlines and pressure. Proficiency with computers and CNC machinery is preferred.
