About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at Dykstra Financial Management Inc. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed financial records, including general ledgers, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Accounting Standards Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, including GAAP and IFRS.
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration: Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, maintain employee benefits records, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including trial balances, and reconcile accounts.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficient in accounting software, including Caseware/Caseview, Quick Books, Simply Accounting, TaxPrep, and Sage Accounting Software.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, dependable, efficient interpersonal skills, and organized.
