About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Goodwood General Contracting. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing and applying adhesives, and setting tiles in place to create beautiful and durable installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation, including measuring and marking areas to be covered
  • Mix and apply adhesives, such as mortar and cement, to ensure a strong bond between tiles and surfaces
  • Set tiles in place, using hand tools and power cutting tools to cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout to create a clean and professional finish
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles, and lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative designs
  • Estimate costs and materials for tile installations, and install tile strips to complete the project
Work Environment

This is a physically demanding role that requires handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, and kneeling. You will work on a variety of projects, including residential and commercial installations, and may be required to work on the road or in a warehouse setting.

Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in tile setting or a related field
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment
