Job Opportunity in Biostatistics and Medicine

The McGill University Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health is a leading academic unit for biomedical statistics, offering a vibrant and inclusive research environment. We are seeking a highly qualified candidate to join our team as an Assistant Professor in Biostatistics and Medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop an independent, externally funded research program of the highest international standards
  • Successfully compete for research funding
  • Supervise a diverse body of graduate students in both departments
  • Contribute to formal teaching in the Master's and PhD programs offered in both departments
  • Disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications and other knowledge translation and exchange activities

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • A doctorate in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field; as well as significant post-doctoral experience
  • Relevant research experience in the development and application of methods for clinical research and large complex health-related data
  • A track record of research productivity as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, the potential to develop an internationally recognized independent research program, a demonstrated ability to obtain grants for his/her own research, and to contribute to the building of successful research programs
  • A track record of successful and synergistic collaboration with clinician and PhD scientists in health research
  • A commitment to and evidence of high-quality teaching, inclusive pedagogy, and effective supervision
  • Fluency in English, and a working knowledge of French or a commitment to acquiring it
