Job Title: Education Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Education Assistant to join our team at School District #62 (Sooke). The successful candidate will provide support to students with diverse needs, including those with autism, behaviour disorders, and learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of Individual Education Plan goals, objectives, and supports
  • Supervise students during classroom activities and on field trips
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as feeding, dressing, and toileting
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and monitor student behaviour
  • Report safety concerns and discipline issues to the principal or designate
Requirements:
  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent
  • Education Assistant Certification or equivalent in a related field
  • Minimum three months of experience working with children
  • Knowledge and understanding of child development
  • Familiarity with Individual Education Plans and Individual Care Plans
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and supportive team environment. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
