Position Overview: Reporting to the Senior Manager of Editorial & Social, the Multimedia Production Specialist will join our dynamic creative team. This role is pivotal in narrating the Metrolinx story and documenting the transformative transit expansion in our region. The ideal candidate will be an engaging storyteller with a strong editorial perspective, responsible for producing captivating video content for various audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce, edit, and film video content tailored for web, social media, and internal communications.
  • Oversee the production and timely delivery of established video formats across multiple sectors, including corporate communications and operational updates.
  • Participate in content team brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas and ensure smooth project coordination.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create digital content that aligns with brand standards and strategic objectives.
  • Work alongside internal clients, partners, and talent, while also managing independent shoots.
  • Develop video concepts through storyboarding, scripting, and planning in accordance with quarterly content schedules.
  • Assist in securing filming locations and obtaining necessary permissions.
  • Capture still images and compose articles or descriptions as needed.
  • Maintain communication with partners regarding content production and delivery.
  • Utilize corporate and project visual identities to ensure brand consistency and integrity across all customer interactions.
  • Ensure proper archiving of video footage within the digital asset management system.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends, techniques, and best practices in multimedia content production and promotion.
  • Contribute to a workplace culture that aligns with our goal of being a top employer.

Qualifications:

  • A diploma or degree in Film, Visual Communications, Graphic Design, Multimedia, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Progressive experience in multimedia content creation.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in producing dynamic digital video content in various settings.
  • Proficient in using video production equipment, including cameras, lighting, and audio gear, as well as drones and stabilizers.
  • Strong knowledge of video production and graphic design software, particularly Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition).
  • Experience working with diverse communities within the region.
  • Exceptional writing skills, with a focus on narrative tone and accessibility of technical content.
  • Prior experience collaborating with creative agencies and managing service contracts.
  • In-depth understanding of best practices in video production, typography, illustration, photography, social media, and corporate identity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate creative ideas effectively to clients and partners.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills to convey multimedia and design solutions to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated tact, diplomacy, and awareness of public sentiment.
