We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Insurance Associate to join our team at Wellington-Altus Private Wealth Inc. As an Insurance Associate, you will play a key role in the firm's insurance business, assisting with insurance applications, underwriting, and administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities- Insurance Application Preparation: Prepare insurance applications with clients and engage with insurance carriers to have policies placed.
- Underwriting and Commission Management: Manage underwriting and reconcile monthly insurance commissions.
- Insurance Reporting: Create and maintain insurance reports.
- License Management: Maintain and update records of all insurance licensed personnel and assist with license renewals.
- Client Support: Provide support to Senior Associates on investment and wealth management client service matters.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: Diploma or Degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or similar field of study.
- Experience: 3 years' experience in insurance and/or wealth industry preferred.
- Licensing: IR/RR licensing is not required but would be considered an asset. Life and A&S Insurance licensed preferred. If unlicensed, must be willing to complete licensing within the next 12 months.
- Skills: Effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and professional judgment skills. Self-starter, ability to work autonomously and proactively. Ability to work as part of a team and independently when needed. Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills and exhibits a high level of professionalism. Adept at working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Proficiency with the MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
- Eligibility: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Background Check: A background check, satisfactory to the employer, may be required of the successful applicant prior to commencing employment.
