About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Security Engineer to join our Product Security team at Menlo Ventures. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on risks related to application, container, and cloud security vulnerabilities, providing expert guidance to our engineering teams.
  • Automate tasks for yourself and developers, streamlining our security processes and improving efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of threat modeling, general software development practices, and the components of a modern product security program.
  • Conduct penetration tests, code reviews, and security assessments to proactively identify vulnerabilities and improve our overall security posture.
  • Educate Product and Engineering teams on relevant security topics, promoting a culture of security awareness and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize security initiatives, ensuring alignment with our business objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and technologies, applying your knowledge to inform our security strategy and improve our defenses.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience implementing scalable security programs, with a strong background in application security.
  • Software development experience with several interpreted or compiled programming languages, including proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, or C++.
  • Experience with a variety of product security testing tools, including Burp Suite, OWASP Zap, Semgrep, CodeQL, and others.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, container security, and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
