Overview
The Department of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Neuromuscular Neurologist to join our esteemed team. As a leading institution in medical research and education, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of neuromuscular medicine.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in outpatient neuromuscular disorder clinics, providing expert diagnosis and treatment to patients
- Conduct electrodiagnostic studies, utilizing Canadian EMG certification to ensure accurate and reliable results
- Rotate on the neurology inpatient and neurology consultation services, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care
- Engage in neurology academic activities, contributing to the development of clinical trials and research initiatives
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in outpatient and inpatient settings, fostering the next generation of neuromuscular neurologists
- Participate in the neurology on-call rotation, ensuring seamless patient care and support
- Provide general neurology clinic services, addressing a range of neurological conditions and needs
Requirements
- MD degree from an accredited institution
- Member of, or eligible to be a member of, the Canadian Medical Protective Association
- Certification in neurology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
- Licensure in Ontario
- Minimum one year of fellowship training in Neuromuscular Disorders
Preferred Qualifications
- Particular interest in acquired / autoimmune neuropathies, myasthenic disorders, and clinical trials
- Strong interest in conducting research and supporting research initiatives
