SUMMARY:
The Retail Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in assisting the Store Manager with the daily oversight of store operations. This includes driving sales growth, managing staff, optimizing merchandising strategies, controlling expenses, ensuring a safe environment for both employees and customers, and delivering an exceptional shopping experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Store Manager in achieving or surpassing weekly, monthly, and annual store performance targets, including sales, profitability, and labor management.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to execute various merchandising initiatives and operational procedures aimed at enhancing store efficiency and profitability.
- Work alongside Department Managers to set productivity benchmarks and operational standards, ensuring merchandise is ordered and displayed in accordance with company guidelines.
- Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations as mandated by the company and relevant authorities.
- Provide leadership by recruiting, training, guiding, and developing a customer-centric team, ensuring a welcoming shopping atmosphere.
- Embrace new technology initiatives, ensuring both personal and staff proficiency.
- Monitor competitive activities in the local market and provide strategic recommendations to management.
- Engage in community initiatives to enhance the store's reputation as a supporter of local activities.
- Foster strong relationships with vendors and union representatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education (College or University)
- 3 to 5 years of progressive management experience
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong business acumen
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proven leadership capabilities
- Effective time management skills
