We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to join our Client Performance and Power Engineering Team at Advanced Micro Devices inc. (AMD). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring our Client products deliver exceptional performance and power efficiency.

The Role:

As a Senior Systems Design Engineer, you will be responsible for executing performance, power, and perf/watt characterization and optimization plans. You will analyze interactions between various power management features and optimize their configurations for performance and power. Additionally, you will proactively drive continuous improvement for post-silicon power and performance activities, such as updating, creating, and maintaining automation tools, benchmarks, and processes.

The Person:

We are looking for a passionate and experienced engineer who is well-versed in computer organization/architecture, digital/analog electronics, power/thermal management, and AI/machine learning algorithms. You should have strong analytical/problem-solving skills, pronounced attention to detail, and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in programming with C or C++ and Python is essential, and experience with data analysis tools, database, machine learning is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute performance, power, and perf/watt characterization and optimization plans
  • Analyze interactions between various power management features and optimize their configurations for performance and power
  • Proactively drive continuous improvement for post-silicon power and performance activities
  • Support prototyping experiments for improving current and implementing new features that impact performance and power
  • Debug and troubleshoot system-level issues that may occur in test environments and platforms
Preferred Experience:
  • Understanding of concepts in computer organization/architecture, digital/analog electronics, power/thermal management, and AI/machine learning algorithms
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to detail
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in programming with C or C++ and Python

Academic Credentials:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer, Electrical, or Systems Engineering
