Job Title: Baker

**About the Role**

We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team at Horizon North. As a Baker, you will be responsible for preparing and baking goods to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Supervise night shift employees and provide mentorship and training
* Identify areas of improvement in the overall operation and implement changes as necessary
* Prepare and bake goods from scratch, including pastries, bread, and desserts
* Restock pastry shelves and maintain a sufficient and fresh supply of baked goods
* Create and follow menus to ensure quality and consistency of baked goods and desserts
* Ensure consistent quality standards in food preparation, including consideration of special dietary constraints
* Comply with food hygiene regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment

**Requirements**

* FoodSafe Level I certification is a minimum, with SafeCheck advanced food safety certification or HACCP certification being an asset
* Minimum 3 years' baking experience in a similar or hotel/institutional environment
* Proven experience preparing baked goods for large numbers of guests
* Prior supervisory experience
* Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 pounds
