Job Title: Transportation Planner

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Planner to join our team at the City of Vancouver. As a key member of our Engineering Services department, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve our goal of becoming the greenest city in the world.

Job Summary:

The Transportation Planner will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the City's Transportation 2040 Plan, Climate Emergency Action Plan, and Vancouver Plan. This includes conducting research, analysis, and data visualization to inform corridor planning studies, transportation policy development, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and analysis to support transportation planning projects, including corridor planning studies and data visualization.
  • Develop plans, presentations, and graphics to communicate complex transportation concepts to stakeholders.
  • Liaise with staff from various divisions and departments, including Planning, Engineering, and Sustainability, to ensure effective collaboration and coordination.
  • Provide data analysis support, including the use of GIS data, to inform transportation planning decisions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement transportation plans that meet the needs of the community.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, supplemented by post-secondary training in planning, public policy, transportation, or a related field.
  • Sound experience as a Planning Assistant II or equivalent work experience.
