Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop responsive themes using CSS, HTML, PHP, and other technologies.
  • Maintain and edit the theming of all node pages, views, search results, and web forms in Drupal and Wordpress.
  • Edit, add, or maintain corporate web content in Drupal as requested by Web Team staff or other areas of the college.
  • Develop new email templates as requested by Marketing staff or other areas of the college.
  • Evaluate and test new and existing templates to ensure they meet college standards for accessibility, analytics tracking, and mobile responsiveness.
  • Build out eblast content and graphics as required and work with other college staff to set up and test eblasts before distribution.
  • Work in partnership with other areas of the college and/or vendors to maintain, update, test, enhance, or add to the Drupal web environment or other web-based systems as required.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of three years of post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Relational database design, programming design and techniques, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five years combined experience in designing and developing websites and web applications.
  • Minimum two + years of Drupal hands-on development experience.
  • Proficient in the maintenance and administration of Drupal modules and sites and/or other CMS environments.
  • Proficient in Drupal, including custom module development, key contributed modules, and core API.
  • Object Oriented PHP development experience.
  • Familiarity with source control systems, e.g. Subversion, etc.
  • WCAG 2.0 Level AA knowledge.
  • MySQL experience.
  • Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with other colleges and academic areas.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to meet urgent deadlines with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas to users and other teams.
  • Ability to both collaborate with team members and to work independently.
  • Eager to embrace current and emerging web technologies.
  • Copywriting experience is an asset; strong spelling and grammar skills are recommended.
  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
  • The ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students, employees, and communities.
