Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team at Ultra. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our high-tech production environment and facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment, including assemblies, installations, and overhauls.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in electro-mechanical devices, suggesting improvements to existing equipment and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain and program Allen-Bradley PLCs and PLC software-controlled equipment, machinery, and variable speed drives.
  • Test electrical equipment for proper function, continuity, and isolation from ground, and correct faults as necessary.
  • Run cabling for production equipment and test equipment on the production floor.
  • Alert supervision to repairs and maintenance required on operating equipment to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to ensure efficient operation of production equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain records, including software and programs for production equipment, machinery, and mechanical devices.
  • Repair, rework, and calibrate pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances.
  • Operate, test, and maintain semi-automated, servo-mechanical, or electromechanical equipment.
  • Follow layouts and install traditional electrical circuitry for offices, lighting, pumps, motors, etc.
  • Work with Engineering to program existing and developmental PLC and operating system-based production equipment, machinery, and electro-mechanical devices.
  • Propose design changes and/or modifications to machines and equipment to improve performance and reliability.
  • Respond to occasional emergency call-ins.
  • Change filters on large filtration systems and process equipment as needed.
Requirements
  • Completed Grade 12 from a recognized community college with a diploma in Electromechanical Technician or trade certification (Journeyperson Millwright).
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems and reading blueprints.
  • Ability to gain Canadian NATO government security clearance and satisfy all requirements to work on Canadian Controlled Goods projects.
Desired Skills
  • Good level of computer literacy.
  • Experience working with 3rd Party custom Tooling shops.
  • AGV experience.
  • Good understanding of PLCs.
  • WHMIS training.
  • Competent reading and writing skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Good communication, organization, and decision-making skills.
