Heavy Equipment Technician

Border Paving Ltd. is committed to providing a dynamic and rewarding work environment. We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team and contribute to our success.
The successful applicant will be responsible for performing inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of truck, trailer combinations, and various off-road equipment. This will include diagnosing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical troubles, as well as performing preventative, planned, and unplanned maintenance, repair, overhaul, and testing of mechanical and electronic equipment.
The ideal candidate will have Alberta HET certification or minimum 3rd year apprentice, or out-of-province HET certification with Interprovincial Red Seal. They will also possess basic welding knowledge and skills, a minimum Class 5 license with a clean abstract, and licensed CVIP certification. Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
The successful applicant will work in a shop setting and in the field, with possible overnight stays. They will be required to work in a safe, timely, and cost-efficient manner and perform duties as required. The ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed is also essential.
