Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pump Operator to join our team at the Suncor base plant location in Fort McMurray. As a Pump Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining trailer-mounted centrifugal dewatering pumps, managing sump levels, and performing a wide range of tasks using basic construction skills and operating power equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain trailer-mounted centrifugal dewatering pumps and manage sump levels
  • Clean, prepare, and maintain construction equipment and components
  • Perform a wide variety of jobs using basic construction skills and operating power equipment
  • Manipulate valves, rig in/out diesel pumps, operate dredges, and diesel/electric pumps, skid steer, etc.
  • Participate in daily tool box talk meetings, weekly safety meetings, safety tours, and CEDA's ICE card program
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and housekeeping in immediate work areas
  • May be required to assist with minor repairs and maintenance

Requirements

  • 2+ years of labour experience is an asset
  • Valid class 5 driver's license and current driver's abstract (no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years)
  • Valid ECS CSO certification (or combination of CSTS-09 and OSSA Regional or BSO)
  • Standard first aid and fall arrest training is beneficial
  • Valid pleasure craft operator card is an asset
  • Comfortable working on and around open bodies of water
  • Prior experience with pumps, centrifuge systems, or dredging and dewatering is an asset
  • Experience around heavy equipment (Loader, Dozer, Excavator, Backhoe) is an asset
  • Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
