Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to take on the role of Warehouse Supervisor within the Pet Valu Warehouse & Distribution team.

The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee a dedicated team of warehouse personnel, including warehouse staff, administrative support, and additional team members as necessary. This role is crucial for managing all warehouse operations during the assigned shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and assess the performance of selectors (picker/packers), reach truck operators, and shipper-receivers, promptly addressing any issues that arise;
  • Ensure workplace safety standards are met in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
  • Deliver continuous training and coaching to team members, along with performance evaluations as needed;
  • Handle administrative tasks such as productivity tracking, load discrepancy documentation, inventory management, and other necessary paperwork;
  • Maintain high standards of customer service, ensuring that the needs of stores are met efficiently;
  • Conduct cycle counts and resolve any inventory discrepancies as necessary;
  • Implement infestation control measures to maintain a pest-free environment;
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization are upheld throughout the facility and surrounding areas;
  • Open and/or close the warehouse, securing the premises and activating alarms as required;
  • Work towards achieving established warehouse performance metrics, including labor productivity, auditing, inventory accuracy, and compliance with safety inspections;
  • Protect merchandise and property by adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience is required;
  • Certification in Lift Truck operation and Health and Safety training is preferred, or a willingness to obtain certification;
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate warehouse operations and identify improvement opportunities are essential;
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment;
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in computer skills.
