Job Summary:

The City of Delta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aquatic Program Coordinator to join our team. As a Lifeguard and Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality aquatic programs and services to our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement aquatic programs for all age groups, including instructional and recreational activities.
  • Provide lifeguarding services at indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver aquatic programs, events, and services that meet the needs of our community.
  • Conduct water safety and aquatic skills instruction, emphasizing best practices and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to program participation, attendance, and customer feedback.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, employees, and patrons to ensure excellent customer service.

Requirements:

  • National Lifeguard Award – Pool Option (NL)
  • Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation Level C current within one year (CPR C)
  • Minimum age of sixteen (16) years
  • Completion of Grade 10 and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience is an asset

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time, auxiliary/casual position, working on an assigned shift at an indoor and/or outdoor aquatic facility. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons.
