The Medicine Hat Care Community Ltd is seeking dedicated individuals to fill the role of Healthcare Support Worker. This position is vital in providing compassionate care to our residents in a nursing home setting.
Qualifications- Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program lasting between 3 months to less than 1 year.
- Experience: A minimum of 7 months to less than 1 year in a similar role.
This role is primarily based in a rural area, focusing on elderly care within a nursing home or similar facility.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Provide meal assistance, including serving trays and feeding patients as needed.
- Support patients with mobility, including lifting, turning, and positioning.
- Deliver messages and specimens between departments efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in patients' living spaces.
- Supervise and encourage patients during their exercise routines.
- Transport patients safely between care facilities using wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Respond to patient call signals to assess and address their needs.
- Collect specimens for medical testing as required.
Applicants must possess the following certifications:
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate
- Nursing Aide Certificate
- Health Care Aide Certificate
