Overview
As a key player in our operations, the Loader Operator will be responsible for efficiently managing log handling processes, ensuring optimal workflow and safety standards are met.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is advantageous.
At least 1 year of experience in operating wheel loaders is required.
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in operating heavy machinery, including models such as 980 and Wagner loaders.
Familiarity with various log species and their appropriate storage methods.
Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and regulations, including the use of necessary safety gear.
Certifications and Licenses:
A valid driver's license is highly preferred.
Possession of a valid first aid level 3 certificate or a willingness to obtain one is a plus.
Additional Criteria:
Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.
Successful completion of pre-employment screening, reference checks, and work verification is required.
Ability to commute to the workplace consistently.
Responsibilities:
Efficiently unload trucks, distribute logs, feed the mill, categorize logs by paint markings, and load logs onto bundle racks.
Perform pre-operational inspections on equipment prior to use.
Maintain a tidy work environment at all times.
Participate in cross-training across various operational areas as required.
