Responsibilities:
  • Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children

  • Organize activities such as games and outings for children
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals
  • Supervise and care for children

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in childcare
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliability and punctuality
Work Environment:

The Home Childcare Provider will work in a home-based setting, providing care to children in a safe and healthy environment. The successful candidate will be required to maintain a non-smoking environment and adhere to all health and safety regulations.

Language:

The primary language of communication will be English.

Work Hours:

The Home Childcare Provider will work 30 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate the needs of the children and families.

Security and Safety:

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal record check and maintain confidentiality of all children and families.

Transportation:

Public transportation is available for the Home Childcare Provider to use when transporting children to and from school and appointments.

Personal Suitability:

The successful candidate will possess excellent initiative, reliability, and teamwork skills, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional care to children.

Support for Newcomers and Refugees:

The Home Childcare Provider will participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees, and will assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees.

Support for Youths:

The successful candidate will offer on-the-job training tailored to youth, and will provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.

Support for Veterans:

The Home Childcare Provider will offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Veterans, and will provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for Veterans.

Support for Indigenous People:

The successful candidate will participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people, and will offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.

Support for Mature Workers:

The Home Childcare Provider will apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination, and will offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for mature workers.
