Position OverviewAre you an analytical financial expert with a knack for complex analysis and forecasting? Do you excel in collaborative settings where your insights influence key decisions and align with organizational objectives?
Reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning and Control, you will oversee the financial planning and analysis processes for FortisBC. You will be responsible for developing thorough financial forecasts, crafting detailed valuation models, and contributing to strategic project assessments. If you are passionate about utilizing financial insights to drive organizational success and adept at managing various priorities, this role is designed for you.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive financial forecasts for the FortisBC group, ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate goals.
- Prepare detailed earnings and capital forecasts to support corporate planning and regulatory submissions, while conducting monthly and quarterly variance analyses on key performance indicators.
- Create and present valuation models to facilitate fair value assessments, goodwill evaluations, and impairment analyses.
- Assist in the financial and strategic evaluation of projects, taking into account financial impact, quality, risk, resources, customer effects, and regulatory considerations.
- Support the treasury function in credit rating processes and capital structure forecasting and analysis.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of the budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate closely with senior management to develop and implement strategies aimed at achieving or surpassing earnings targets, while establishing effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A bachelor's degree in business or finance, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, along with a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in senior accounting and financial analysis.
- Experience in a regulated environment is considered an asset.
- You are results-oriented with a strong ability to problem-solve and make informed decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to coach and motivate teams.
- A natural aptitude for driving and implementing change through effective planning and execution, while prioritizing customer experience.
- Knowledgeable in budgeting concepts, regulatory frameworks, and business models.
This position offers the option to participate in a flexible work program, allowing you to work from an approved location in British Columbia for up to 85 days a year, subject to business needs.
