Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Route Planning and Optimization: Plan and adjust routes to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions, utilizing computer equipment and GPS technology.
  • Customer Service: Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Cargo Handling: Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securing and safety of cargo.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, and communicate with customers and colleagues as needed.
Requirements
  • Driver's License: Possess a valid Class 1 or A driver's license.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience as a truck driver.
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
Work Environment

This is an on-the-road job with a permanent work term. The successful candidate will work 35 to 44 hours per week, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods.
