About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Consultant to join our team at ROSS. As a Business Intelligence Consultant, you will play a key role in helping our clients transform their operational data into actionable information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand and translate client business requirements into workable technical solutions.
  • Provide billable consulting support to achieve account objectives and production success.
  • Complete all levels of application testing and QA.
  • Prepare all required documentation (specifications, design, system, training, user).
  • Ensure up-to-date knowledge in industry business and technology solutions, through self-motivated approach to continuous learning.
  • Provide presentations, internally and/or with clients, as required.
  • Mentor other consultants as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years BI technical experience.
  • Very strong data architecture, data modeling, data mining skills (e.g., dimensions, metadata, etc.).
  • Data Warehouse/Mart knowledge and experience is preferred, including knowledge of common industry approaches including star schema and 'corporate information factory'.
  • Strong Java skills for integration and customizations.
  • Knowledge of and experience with:
    • databases including one or more: Oracle, DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, Sybase.
    • Windows and Unix.
    • client server and web based environments.
    • connectivity issues, infrastructure and protocols.
    • one or more of: BEA Weblogic, Websphere, J2EE, web development.
    • Business Intelligence development experience and programming experience (SQL, Visual Basic, C, C++); Web/Internet experience (JAVA, HTML, ASP, XML, XSL, JavaScript).
  • Demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Consulting experience with external clients, in competitive situations (independent software vendor company or Big4 consulting).
  • ETL software (any flavor such as Informatica, AbInitio, etc).
  • Experience with BI products and tools (e.g., Cognos, Teradata, Peregrine, spss, g5, Hyperion, SAS, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Information Builders (IBI), Angoss, CRM, etc).
