Software Automation Test Engineer

We are seeking a talented and innovative Software Automation Test Engineer to join our R&D Design Verification team in Ottawa. The Opportunity

This is an 8-month or 12-month term position, depending on your preference. As a Software Automation Test Engineer, you will contribute to the ongoing development of automated solutions for our next-generation optical switches, amplifiers, and circuit packs.

You will collect and analyze manufacturing data to improve product performance and quality, solve complex technical problems, and work closely with the Optical, Hardware, Software, and Firmware R&D teams.

Additionally, you will analyze and characterize device failures and improve the quality and robustness of our products.

Requirements
  • A strong craving to succeed and do things right the first time
  • Strong object-oriented software design and implementation skills (any language)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 2+ years towards a degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent
Assets
  • Experience with Visual Studio or C#), XML, Python, Perl, and/or TCL shell scripts
  • Experience in instrumentation and automation
  • Understanding of optical systems
  • Experience with optical instruments and optical fibers
