We are seeking a skilled Furniture Craftsman to join our team at Whitby Furniture Outlet. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality furniture pieces that meet our customers' expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Production: Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made, and bring them to life using your expertise in woodworking and cabinetmaking.
- Quality Control: Inspect and test finished products to ensure they meet our quality standards.
- Materials Management: Estimate costs and materials needed for each project, and ensure that they are ordered and delivered on time.
- Repair and Restoration: Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products to meet customer demands.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and excellent organizational skills are essential.
- Support for Newcomers and Refugees: We offer support for newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition.
- Support for Youths: We provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
- Support for Indigenous People: We offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
- Support for Visible Minorities: We offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees.
- Work Conditions: Fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
- Physical Capabilities: Standing for extended periods is required.
- Language of Work: English is the primary language of work.
- Hours of Work: 30 hours per week.
