{"About Our Ideal Candidate": "We are seeking a highly skilled and confident Veterinary Medical Oncologist to join our specialty health care team at Calgary Animal Referral and Emergency Centre. The ideal candidate will have completed an Oncology residency and be qualified or will be qualified as a Diplomate of ACVIM (Oncology). They will be confident in their abilities and not require another oncologist to be on site, with a network to collaborate with across the VCA network in Canada and the US. The candidate will be eager to build their own practice with our referring community, supported by leadership, marketing, and other support office areas to help them build their business. They will have experience with varied cases, a cross-section of clients, and all levels of staff, and be licensed in Alberta or eligible to be licensed. The ideal candidate will demonstrate positive and caring leadership qualities, combined with a team player attitude to enable all our teams to flourish. They will understand the importance of training and mentoring the next generation of veterinary professionals and have excellent diagnostic and critical thinking skills, as well as meticulous attention to medical records and exemplary customer service that builds loyalty and trust with clients and the referring community. They will also have strong organizational skills that allow them to stay focused and work under pressure in those moments.

About Us: Calgary Animal Referral and Emergency Centre is a 24-hour emergency and referral specialty hospital, operating out of a 26,000 square foot facility in Calgary. The hospital is undergoing a complete update and expansion to facilitate the ever-growing caseload and expanding specialty services, including the design of a new, state-of-the-art ICU. Key Responsibilities:

* Provide high-quality patient care and treatment plans
* Collaborate with other specialists and general practitioners to provide comprehensive care
* Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with cancer and other complex conditions
* Conduct research and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in oncology
* Teach and mentor interns and students
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of hospital policies and procedures

Requirements:

* DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution
* Completion of an Oncology residency program
* Board certification in Veterinary Medical Oncology
* Eligibility for licensure in Alberta
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
