About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pre-Flight Mechanic to join our team. As a Pre-Flight Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing mechanical work and other complex aircraft inspection and maintenance tasks to prepare the aircraft for flight or customer acceptance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the preparation of the aircraft for flight or customer acceptance, including installing and removing safety pins, covering intake ports and pipes, and checking and inflating tires.
  • Check, adjust, repair, or replace devices and equipment of a complex nature, such as internal storage, seats, and harnesses, accessories, upholstery, and repair sheet metal as needed.
  • Check and maintain flight systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, heating, and ventilation circuits, flight controls, landing gear, and engines.
  • Perform maintenance, purging, charging, and checking of gas and liquid oxygen systems.

Requirements

  • College diploma in pre-flight mechanics or military equivalent or Transport Canada equivalent.
  • Experience in aircraft structure assembly, aircraft structure repair, and/or composite materials with experience in aeronautics and/or sheet metal work.
  • CF-18 experience is an asset.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
  • Strong skills for teamwork, dynamic and innovative, and stimulated by technical challenges.
  • Organized, autonomous, and developed analytical sense.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO SECRET security clearance.
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
