Job Overview:

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting proactive and reactive security patrols during assigned shifts and responding to incidents effectively. Your duties will include writing reports and investigating routine occurrences, as well as responding to emergencies promptly. It is crucial that you are physically fit and capable of standing and walking for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional service to enhance the overall customer experience
  • Ensure adherence to standards, rules, and regulations at the site
  • Proactively assist in creating a positive experience for all visitors
  • Conduct visible patrols of designated areas on foot and engage positively with tenants, guests, and employees
  • Maintain awareness of activities and events at the site and assist visitors accordingly
  • Manage vehicle traffic on the premises
  • Engage in normal physical activities, including walking, standing, and basic motor skills; regular record-keeping is also required
  • Enforce property standards and regulations with fairness
  • Utilize tact and diplomacy in various situations
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid until professional help arrives
  • Maintain access control procedures
  • Understand emergency and standard operating procedures thoroughly
  • Address trespassers and unauthorized individuals in a safe manner
  • Assist with fire and life safety inspections
  • Keep a detailed log and prepare incident reports using standard reporting tools
  • Investigate incidents and prepare comprehensive reports
  • Ensure the safety and security of all patrons and clients on the premises
  • Monitor CCTV systems
  • De-escalate crisis situations effectively
  • Support emergency and law enforcement personnel as needed
  • Assist with daily operations as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (8-12 hours)
  • Demonstrated professionalism and strong communication skills
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior security experience
  • Experience in physical or mall security is an asset
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, both indoors and outdoors
  • Capability to handle stress and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Comfortable working in busy, populated areas
  • Clean driver abstract required
  • High attention to detail and observational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to work effectively in a team
