Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Greet all customers in a polite and friendly manner, providing assistance and resolving any issues that may arise during the checkout process.
  • Transaction Processing: Process all purchase transactions in a timely and efficient manner, including deactivation of merchandise with respect to the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) Program.
  • Product Promotion: Promote company-sponsored programs, such as credit card services, product protection, and charity initiatives, to customers.
  • Assistance and Support: Assist customers with bagging and loading of merchandise, ensuring their shopping experience is convenient and hassle-free.
  • Store Safety and Security: Maintain a safe and secure work environment by following proper lifting techniques, keeping a clean work area, and adhering to relevant company policies.
  • Register Security: Ensure the integrity of the register by practicing diligent cash handling, adhering to company policies, and being aware of surroundings.
  • Escalation: Refer any service or transactional issues to a Customer Service Manager as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues in a polite and friendly manner.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately process transactions and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales and customer service goals.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Previous Retail Experience: Previous experience working in a retail environment, preferably in a customer-facing role.
  • Cash Handling Experience: Previous experience handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
