Job Title: RES Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented RES Assistant to provide exceptional support to our students, staff, and external stakeholders. As a key member of our RES unit, you will be the first point of contact for inquiries and provide top-notch customer service, clerical support, and data entry services.

About the Role:
  • Provide administrative support to the RES unit, including responding to inquiries, processing data, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Work closely with senior team members to ensure seamless delivery of RES services, adhering to College policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of RES services, processes, and projects, contributing to the growth and improvement of our services.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to inquiries and provide information to students, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Process and maintain accurate records, including data entry and document management.
  • Provide clerical support, including preparing documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Work collaboratively with senior team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 completion plus one (1) year post-secondary certificate in a related discipline.
  • One (1) year of related experience in providing customer service and/or clerical support, preferably in an educational environment.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Experience with integrated student record systems or similar computerized systems is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of post-secondary policy and procedures, programs, and registrarial processes is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the BC post-secondary system is preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service, respond to inquiries, and provide information, assistance, and related services.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, dealing with a constant flow of inquiries, requiring endurance and stamina.
  • Ability to work with challenging or difficult situations.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask and work with frequent interruptions, while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Ability to investigate and listen to solve problems and provide solutions.
  • Excellent ability to maintain a respectful workplace environment.
  • Ability to foster effective communication and teamwork among employees.
  • Ability to interpret and apply College, government, and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ability to exercise judgment, tact, and discretion.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Intermediate level in the use of standard computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and email.
  • Ability to achieve a keyboarding speed of 40 wpm.
Language Requirement:
  • Oral and written fluency in a secondary language: Korean, Mandarin/Chinese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Spanish, Portuguese, or another language consistent with current departmental priorities.
Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
