Opportunity: Telecom Network Design Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated Telecom Network Design Lead to join our Calgary engineering team. You will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of HFC networks for our clients. This position offers a dynamic work environment with an extremely experienced technical team, where you will be fully involved in all aspects of the engineering and design process.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of HFC networks, including the selection of appropriate cable types, sizes, and routing strategies.
  • Determine optimal pathways for cable placement, identifying potential roadblocks and existing utilities that may require coordination.
  • Review completed designs for accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to a team of designers, ensuring they adhere to best practices and design standards.
  • Conduct surveys of existing infrastructure to identify the most suitable locations for new cables and equipment, contributing to the overall success of HFC networks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure the timely installation and maintenance of HFC infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, environmental science, urban planning).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing HFC networks.
  • Proven knowledge of HFC network architecture, components, best practices, design systems, industry standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in AutoDesign, IQGeo, Comsof, ARMIS, ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, and other relevant engineering software.
