About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at DBA Taco Del Mar. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to meet customer demands.
    • Portion and wrap foods for serving.
    • Package take-out food for customers.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
    • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas.
  • Inventory Management
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
    • Keep records of food quantities used.
  • General Kitchen Duties
    • Bring clean dishes, flatware, and other items to serving areas and set tables.
    • Stock refrigerators and salad bars.
    • Remove kitchen garbage and trash.
    • Sharpen kitchen knives.
    • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Language
    • Fluency in English.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent position, working 35 to 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be willing to relocate for this position and be legally able to work in Canada.
