Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and services in a community pharmacy setting. This includes advising customers on the selection and use of non-prescription medication, checking prescriptions for proper dosage, and compounding prescribed pharmaceutical products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise customers on the selection and use of non-prescription medication, ensuring they receive the best possible care and advice.
  • Check prescriptions for proper dosage, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring, and mixing the right quantities of drugs and other ingredients.
  • Maintain medication profiles of customers, including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs.
  • Manage the storage, packaging, and distribution of medicinal products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of other pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, pharmacy technicians, and other staff.
Requirements:
  • Certification for drug administration by injection and intranasal route.
  • Pharmacy Examining Boards of Canada Certification.
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
  • Basic security clearance.
  • Criminal record check.
  • Eligible for professional liability insurance.
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced community pharmacy environment, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure, maintain attention to detail, and prioritize tasks effectively.
