Job Opportunity

We're seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our IT team at our Thorold main office and distribution center. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for supervising the operation and protection of our computer network, ensuring servers and network function properly, and providing technical support for server, network, and security infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on technical support for server, network, and security infrastructure
  • Work with management to research, evaluate, and recommend best practices
  • Develop a company-wide security policy and manage resources for successful deployment
  • Liaise with other departments to determine technical needs
  • Direct and oversee outside vendors for services, renewals, and equipment
  • Establish, monitor, and evaluate compliance with security protocols
  • Provide instructional sessions for security awareness and best practices
  • Monitor and provide 24/7 support for core systems
  • Replace defective and legacy equipment as needed
  • Work with outside technical support to resolve issues outside of the team's control
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Programming or Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in hands-on technical roles relating to server, enterprise networking, and IT security technologies
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, security technologies, application protocols, and backup strategies
  • Working knowledge of VPNs, remote connectivity, intrusion protection systems, network access control, content filtering, malware detection, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing in a predominantly Windows environment
  • Microsoft O365, Microsoft Data Center Management, and Network Load Balancing
  • TrendMicro and SSL Certs an asset
  • Azure/AWS/Google Cloud experience an asset
  • SQL database administration an asset
  • Ability to work in a high-performing and fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to stay organized with a heavy and diverse workload
  • Strong attention to detail and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
