About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Elementary School Leader to join our team at School District #41 (Burnaby). As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational experience for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Management: Provide effective supervision and support to teaching and support staff, ensuring the day-to-day operations of the school run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Educational Leadership: Work collaboratively with the district's educational leadership team to develop and communicate a clear vision for the school's educational goals and objectives.
  • Instructional Leadership: Monitor and assess student progress, implementing strategies for improvement as necessary to ensure academic excellence.
  • Student and Staff Support: Provide guidance and support to students, staff, and parents, fostering a safe, positive, and inclusive school culture that promotes academic excellence, social development, and overall student well-being.
  • Community Engagement: Work cooperatively with parents, professionals, and community service agencies to promote positive relationships and understanding, acting as a liaison between the school and the community.
  • Cultural Leadership: Lead, guide, and embed equity practices and Indigenous perspectives in school goals, promoting diversity, inclusion, and cultural safety.

Requirements
  • Education: Possess or be enrolled in a Master's degree in Supervision of Instruction, Program & Curriculum Development, or Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification: Hold a valid B.C. Professional Teaching Certificate.
  • Experience: Recent successful administrator or teaching experience, with a proven track record of leadership and management in an educational institution.
  • Leadership Qualities: Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of educators and staff members.
