Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team at On Side Restoration in Sudbury. As a Painter, you will play a crucial role in restoring damaged personal and commercial property, bringing color and vibrancy to our clients' spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Estimate material quantities, measure surfaces, and review scopes, sketches, and work orders to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Remove old coatings using solvents, heat, sanding, wire brushing, or water and abrasive blasting.
  • Prepare surfaces for covering by cleaning, filling nail holes and cracks, and sanding rough spots.
  • Apply undercoat primers or sealers before painting or apply sizing before wallpapering.
  • Match specified colors using premixed paints or mixing color and thinning and drying additives.
  • Apply liquid coatings such as paint, stain, or varnish to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
  • Apply finishes that are sponged, ragged, and layered.
  • Apply paper, vinyl, or natural and synthetic fabric wallcoverings.

Requirements

  • Experience working in construction environments with tools and skills to use them.
  • Strong people and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, passion for quality, and pride in work.
  • A safety mindset.
  • Valid driver's license and clean criminal record.
  • Ability to communicate in English.
