About the Job

Chandigarh Construction Inc. is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and installing structures and fixtures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials to create structures and fixtures
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Schedule and coordinate work on construction sites
  • Survey building locations and levels to ensure accuracy
  • Estimate costs and materials for projects
  • Operate computer-aided design (CADD) and other software systems
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in the trade
  • Permanent employment
  • English language proficiency
  • 35 hours of work per week
