Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Product Designer to enhance the AbeBooks platform, focusing on creating exceptional experiences for discovering used and collectible books.
Role Responsibilities
As the Product Design Lead, you will play a crucial role in the entire product development process, from ideation to execution. Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of the design for comprehensive product experiences and features.
- Leading design initiatives throughout all stages of the product lifecycle, from initial discovery to final launch.
- Fostering creativity and collaboration with cross-functional teams to generate innovative ideas and strategies.
- Conducting research to identify opportunities and develop solutions for complex customer challenges.
- Creating design frameworks, user flows, wireframes, and detailed visual mockups to effectively communicate design strategies.
- Supporting your design decisions with quantitative data, customer feedback, and usability insights.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior designers, focusing on their professional growth.
- Establishing and promoting design guidelines, best practices, and tools within the team.
- Presenting design concepts and strategies to various stakeholders, including technical and business teams.
Daily Activities
In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse team, continuously innovating and refining product experiences. You will be supported by a leader who facilitates your work and a team of peers for collaboration and support.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience applying agile methodologies to visual or UX design processes.
- A strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions across various platforms.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Balsamiq, Omnigraffle, Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, and Dreamweaver.
