If you are passionate about being a foundational engineer in a startup that is set to revolutionize application security, we would be eager to connect with you.

About Us:

Our mission is to safeguard the modern digital landscape. Operant AI's innovative technology addresses some of the most pressing challenges in contemporary cybersecurity, offering protection for applications across every layer of the cloud-native architecture—from infrastructure to APIs, and from data to AI. We are dedicated to integrating cutting-edge advancements from Operating Systems, Distributed Systems, and AI into the realm of cloud-native security, crafting a solution that is equipped to tackle the increasing complexity and vast scale of today’s cloud-native applications. Recognized as a vendor in Gartner's market guide for API Protection and Kubernetes Runtime Security, as well as Forrester's Zero Trust landscape, we are poised for significant growth in this expanding market.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and develop the DevOps/SRE initiatives for our products, encompassing the following tasks:

  • Oversee the monitoring of products and services to ensure availability, security, reliability, and scalability.
  • Document and formalize best practices regarding operational service behavior.
  • Construct the infrastructure that facilitates incident triaging, troubleshooting, remediation, and post-incident reviews.
  • Maintain security best practices throughout the code development lifecycle.
  • Track and execute tasks to uphold annual SOC2 compliance controls.
  • Establish and communicate on-call schedules and procedures to the wider engineering teams.
  • Document and share design decisions with the broader team to foster a remote, asynchronous work culture.
  • Operate independently while making informed technical decisions amidst uncertainties.
  • Collaborate across teams with other engineering leaders.
  • Take an active interest in understanding customer challenges while developing features iteratively.
  • Quickly adapt SRE practices and processes to scale with a rapidly growing startup and product.
Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in an SRE role within a dynamic engineering organization focused on SaaS/cloud-native products and services.
  • Proficient in Kubernetes, Golang, and Python.
  • Familiarity with major cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their automation tools.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously as part of a remote team.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent industry experience is preferred.
  • Availability during core PST business hours and flexibility to adjust schedules based on customer and business requirements.
