Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Kitchen Management: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization, and implement procedures to maintain high standards.
  • Staff Training: Train kitchen staff and helpers in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and provide guidance on food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Inventory Management: Order supplies and equipment, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Supervision: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, and provide guidance and support to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean kitchen and work areas, and maintain equipment and facilities to ensure they are in good working order.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant environment.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Personal Suitability: Organized, team player, and able to work in a permanent role with 30 to 40 hours per week.
